I just loved them. My girls wore them all the time. Can only find them on Ebay now!
I made a few smocked dresses for my girls, wished I had kept them for my granddaughters!

I had to look that up, lol, haven't ever heard the name! I love smocking. I don't think I will EVER venture to do it... I have too little patience.

It really wasn't that hard. Pretty much connecting the dots. Not sure I have the patience or the desire to try it again. If I didnt work and had the time!?!? Maybe!

I didn't know what they were called, but I remember wearing them. I haven't sewed much in so long, I don't think I could do that now, then again I don't think I could do it when I did sew more, I mostly made simple things for my daughter and myself or made craft items!

I am new on this site, but I smock and love to. Grandma J they have pleaters now that pleats the fabric for you saves lots of time. My first dress I did by hand took me a month to do. my second one I did with a pleater two 2 weeks . cuts time in half. Also if you every do decide to get back into it or someone on here decides to try it i recommend the a-z smocking books and the sew beatiful mag. The books show you how to do all the different stiches and the mag gives you good ideas and free smocking plates in every issue. And if you really don't want too do it your self I also sell my dresses. You can private meessage me if any ones interested or email me at loganjapril@yahhoo.com.
