I am in such a slump. I have abandon my bow making because I am so down. I really really want to sell them but I feel like they aren't good enough.
I have so many ideas and so much ribbon to do it with I just need to know if anyone else gets in these slumps or is it just me.
Love PNP

I get in bow funks all of the time. I normally just step away for a few days. It also helps me when I just make something for my daughter and have fun with it. When I put the fun back into it I can normally pull myself out of the slump. Try some of the ideas that you have floating in your head just for the fun and joy of doing them (not with the added stress/pressure of whether or not you can sell them). I think once you do that, and have those pretties in front of you, you will find yourself proud of what you have done AND have something that WILL likely sell.

Barbara Jean you rock!:3: you are so positive I am so happy I joined this forum. It has proven to me there are good people everywhere you just have to find them. Thank you for your words of encouragement.

I too, LOVE Barbara Jean. Even when she's not answering one of my questions, I ALWAYS, and I DO mean ALWAYS, see what it is that she is saying to others. Not so much because I'm nosy, but it's because I've found the one person I know I can trust, I KNOW will be honest (seen it, read it, felt it), and just someone that I felt I clicked with, (even tho I've been here less than a month). I guess I feel like after reading so much of her stuff, that it feels like I know her---and not in a weird stalker kind of way!! In an admiring, hope I can learn to be more like her kind of way!!

Sometimes when I'm in a slump I'll stop making hair bows for a few days and move on to another craft. Sometimes just changing my focus a little bit will help inspire me.

I would oddly feel honored to have a stalker, lol! (... that is before the restraining order would have to be issued!)
r---and not in a weird stalker kind of way!!

I agree with Barbara. do something just for fun. I find that I am really hard on myself but if I just step back and remember this is fun and that my bows look good I tend to relax and the ideas come back.
I agree Barbara ROCKS!!! I am a huge fan!!!

How long have you been making bows for? It really takes a lot of time to get your own "style" established. Don't worry about selling your things till your technique is nailed down. Have fun, play around with things.
Slumps are normal. I try to carry a wide varety of products, not just hair bows, so I don't get too burnt out of one thing.
