I was wondering how you all went about naming your business. Did you just think of a cute name and then just started selling your bows with your name on it?

Come up with a name you like and then check to see if the domain name is free to use. If so, buy it even if you don't plan a website right now, so that you will secure it for when you do. I learned the hard way, lol. I had to come up with a different name and then bought the domain a year ago and started selling under that name. I don't have a website yet but when I am ready... I already have it. Someone just recently decided to sell under the same name...grrrrrr... they just added the word "the" to the beginning of the name...grrrrrrrrr...Oh well, Lo que será, será.

The opposite happened to me. I bought the domain: The Bumble Bee Bowtique and then found out later there was already a lady selling under the same name withOUT the "The." I now have to make sure everyone is clean that you have to add the "The" onto the front and I didn't realize I'd have this problem till well into owning the domain name. Now I feel stuck!:07:

Ok, so I know I am dumb, but how do you go about "Buying" a name. I don't have any clue about this. Where do I look? How much does it cost? You guys are all so helpful. Thank you.

Go to godaddy.com (for example) and type in the name you are considering using to see if if is available. When you put it into the search box, the query will return whether it is taken or available. You can buy it if it is available. You don't have to use the same people to host your site, you're just taking the name off of the market.
