Time taken: 5 min
Things needed: 1.5 inch Grosgrain Ribbon, Elastic band(no metal), sewing machine(preferred) or fabric glue.

Measure the head size and add 1 inch. My Toddler's headsize is 18.5 inches. I am adding 1 inch extra so total Ribbon needed is 19.5 inches Ribbon. Heat seal the ends

Insert elastic as shown. Make another fold before sewing, by this way the ribbon tip will not show.

I can't believe how cute and easy this is. I am going to try to make a few for my SIL today. She always wears headbands (especially since having her son) and she will love, love, love these.

Can I ask why you twist the pony-o? I made one but my pony-o tries to un-cross (twist) turning the ribbon. I hope that makes sense!
I love it on my daughter though!

I don't know about Vanitha but I twisted mine because hers looked cute twisted. Mine did not stay either, if that helps. I had to add a little glue to keep mine that way. Vanitha, what is your secret??girly

Mine doesnt stay either but i recommend twisting the band. Bcos when you wear it, the elastic gets tucked and hidden on the back (if not you can see the two strings of elastic and wont look nice:)).

Great instructions! I'm going to get my sewing machine out the box and make me a couple since I love to wear headbands. Easy to do.

Great, simple instruction - thanks!
Maybe if you wrapped a bit of narrow ribbon (1/4 or 3/8 inch) around the twist, it might keep it from untwisting? Or, if you stitch the elastic at the twist? Haven't tried it myself, just a thought. Will need to try this soon!:)

Ok, I realize that this is a really stupid question, but when you're measuring the person's head, do you measure around the area where the headband will go or around your forehead like they measure for a hat? Just wondering since you added an inch to your measurement...:o

I measure around the area where the headband will sit. I think the extra inch is to take into account the roughly 1/2 inch on each end that you fold the ribbon over the pony-o.

Do you think it would be okay if we gule the ribbon to the pony-o instead of sewing? I dont have a sewing machine. LOL
Maybe like gluing it exactly where u stitched it, maybe twice?
Am I making any sense?:confused1:

Just wanted to let ya'll know, I made one of these yesterday, and wrapped and then stitched a bit of the ribbon I was using around the twist, like Michelle said, and it worked great! It stays in place really well that way.
I really like this headband because other headbands have a habit of feeling too tight after wearing it for a few hours. I could wear this one all day! Thanks again Vanitha!

I don't have a sewing machine either--I just hand stitched it, and it took no time at all. I am NOT a seamstress, and it was still super easy.

Oh, this looks so easy. I am going to make one tonight. I am surprised you don;t do it a little smaller than the head size to ensure it doesn't fall off.

You could probably get away with something called liquid Stitch. Or you could hand stitch it.
